Episode 12

My how the season has flown. Tonight marks the last regular episode of Survivor China, with the season finale airing on Sunday night.

As gorgeous as it's been, realizing we've come to the end, I'm a bit let down. Here's why: I don't feel particularly bound to any of them. Every other season, I've had a definite favorite, someone I was rooting for going in to the finale... Not so this season.

I suppose if forced to pick, I'd go with Denise or Amanda or maybe even PG. Then again, Todd has masterminded the whole game... The only thing I'm 100% sure of is who I don't want to win, and that hasn't changed since Episode 1: Courtney.

My faves - James, Frosti and (at the risk of Cliff's wrath) Jean-Robert - are all long gone.

This season's been beautifully shot and cleverly executed, but how successful is it when a real fan of the show doesn't care who wins? The edit has to be called into question... they've failed to create a protagonist.

And on with the show...

The blow by blow's in the comment section.

Wow I can't believe how quick the season has gone by. And yet I don't feel as invested in this cast as I had in the last two seasons. (I think it speaks to how important it is to get the right people on the show.) It's been exciting though from James getting both idols to Jaime's "masterful" move by playing the decoy to James' big blunder by sitting on the real idols and it costing him the entire game. Can't wait for the next one.

Poor Pei-Gee. Why is she so disliked and unlikeable? I don't know why but she is.

Great strategic move giving Courteney that many arrows. AND great strategic move by Courteney giving Denise and Todd the win (because I mean, come on, you know she was totally aiming for them towards the end).

Judging by the previews, Amanda may have something up her buff (sorry she doesn't have sleeves).

mo - yup...
we shall see.

i'm actually surprised by todd bringing up getting rid of amanda during reward... she's definitely a bigger threat going into final 3 than denise.. athletically and socially.

Uh-oh, I think I smell something fishy with that editing... I'm going to guess that our beloved Bostonian mullet will be scooping tater-toes soon rather than later. Denise is sooo odd woman out. She is going to be eaten by piranhas she calls tribemates by the end of the hour.

According to his TVguide.com interview Probst thinks Amanda has a greater chance than Todd at taking it all.

Yep, that's about totally the time I'll be there too! I fly in at 11:45am and my Colombia flight is at 6:50pm. Is downtown far from the airport? (I'm thinking of leaving the airport for a few if it's close enough.)

Downtown's not far at all, but it pretty much closes up on the weekends... We don't really have a standard downtown. Bayside Marketplace is a mall on the Bay right by downtown though, and it'll be open... Totally doable with a 6 hour layover.
15 minutes from the airport.

So, like, first I have to say that, like, I really don't, like, think one thing or another about Jean-Robert. Oh, other than, like, he's a big luscious hunk of, like, you know, man meat who puts McDreamy to shame.

But, hey, like, we still have, like, LunchLadyLand.

Also, like, I won't, like, miss PG. She was a pill.

And, like, Ms. Blurry Bottom is starting to bug me. Mostly because she's all-but-guaranteed to, like, you know, win.

My Toddy. How I, like, love my Toddy. And I am, like, so sure that he's not going to, like, make it to, like, the end. Again, women have the edge in endurance. Always have. Always will.

Also, like, did, like, anyone else notice that they said, like, there's going to be, like, THREE tribal councils Sunday? Doesn't that, like, mean that, like, there's going to be a final TWO?

Like, wow.

See ya'll Sunday.

I agree with everyone - this season has not been as exciting as others, the cast has been so-so, I can't seem to find anyone I want to root for to win on Sunday, probably Amanda or Denise. No to Courtney & Todd. Truly I can't wait for BB9!

How about a Survivor AllStars? That would be great!

How about offering BB housemates a spot on survivor! Now that's what I'm talking about! How funny that would be!

Thanks Carolyn for this great site for us to run-a-muck!

Hello Carolyn... monyc & Cliff & Beth!

I couldn't let this season's Survivor end without checking in.

I sooo agree with you Carolyn. Everything you describe is exactly my take on this season too.

I know in my world, I thought the effects of BB8 (the obsession!), with one of the greatest seasons *ever* (IMO) had a lot to do with my disappointment with Survivor...

...but to hear you express it out loud, maybe it *is* just a blah Survivor.

I had kind of a feeling into the first couple of episodes - and think I even posted it - that there was too much *production*, and not enough human-dynamics development.

And that still hasn't changed.

I'm hoping Denise and Amanda are the final two... they are the only deserving Survivors remaining.

See you on Sunday

So, who did everyone vote for as their favorite survivor? My votes have gone back and forth between Denise and James.

It's gonna kill me tonight to stay away from the computer until the show is over here 3 hours later than on the east coast. Something always gives it away but it's gonna be sooooooo hard not to peak and I really don't want to ruin the surprise.

Enjoy the final show and reunion everyone. I'll check in tomorrow.

Deb in WA, who can't remember her password to get in her account....duh!!!!
